David Leask, a dear friend of ours and an immensely talented musician, has gathered a group of his musical friends to write and produce a song +video called “When I Get Confused”. This was in response to his life circumstances (parents) and what seems to be happening to many. He initiated this project and all efforts have been volunteered. His aim is to raise awareness of the challenges of Dementia and Alzheimer’s, in the hopes that people will consider supporting their local Alzheimer’s Society. He has been interviewed on CBC and the Peel Alzheimer’s Society launched the song when they opened their new facility. The song is beautiful and respectful. Here’s the links:

Our request is two parts:

  1. After you have had a listen, would you please send the link to 5 friends. We hope you are equally touched as we were.
    1. If you liked the music, check out David’s other music at his website – https://davidleask.com/home. His is the recipient of numerous awards and presently lives north of Montreal. David’s music and friendship has brought us a lot of joy over the years and he continues to write and perform wonderful new songs.
  • If you have had family or a friends suffer though this disease you know how hard that is. Please consider a donation to your local Alzheimer’s Society. CanadaHelps.ca is an easy way to find your local Society.  They provide tremendous support to the individuals and to the families, while the national Alzheimer’s Foundation drives the research.

A few years back we saw a poster in the Alzheimer’s/lockdown floor at a Senior Care Facility (where we was spending a lot of time). It put it in perspective for us:

“Inside every (Alzheimer’s) patient is a frightened soul who is looking for the way home”.

Thank you,

Alison and Steve
